Make a difference in the lives of children in Binghampton today!
Binghampton is CREATIVE!
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Creativity is the foundation of Carpenter Art Garden.
The freedom to be creative, to create something from personal feelings, can nurture a child's emotional health.
Creativity has not stopped during the pandemic. Your support provides opportunities for students to use their creative brains through art education, gardening, cycling, education, and teen programs on Carpenter Street.
Creative thinking maximizing imagination, productivity, and innovation in life. Here are some of the programs we provide throughout the year.
- Small group art and music classes taught by local artists and Iris Orchastra.
- Art immersion field trips to galleries and museums inspiring creative exploration and access to opportunities that increase art awareness.
- On Tuesday we have Tuesday Art Garden. Students gather each week to create art, experience performances and build relationships.
- Art Garden at Home provides creative prompts, craft projects and STEAM projects that can be completed at home.
- The Mosaic Arts Apprenticeship Program offers Binghampton neighborhood middle and high school students apprenticeship opportunities in mosaic design and build.
- Cycling on the Greenline to create healthy habits
- Teenagers are employed through our Teen Job Hub to work in the gardens and the pop-up market.
- Homework help and tutoring at Aunt Lou's House along with STEAM projects and educational games
- Teen Job Hub speaker series
Our commitment to listening and responding to the needs, ideas, and dreams of Binghampton children and adults helped us grow into the vibrant community we are today.
Our mission expanded as the needs of our neighborhood changed. One of our greatest strengths is our five staff members who live in the neighborhood. We have been open to our Binghampton neighbors, continuously reimagining ways to help since the beginning of the pandemic through programming, resource assistance, and PPE.
